Rex Feng:
Rex is a New York City native, born in Queens, and
discovered hip-hop dancing after seeing the Rock Steady Crew for the first
time in the late 1990s. Winning a few high school talent shows led to a
deeper pursuit of the art form in college at William & Mary in Virginia,
where he joined and eventually helped to lead the university's premier
student-run dance company, Pointe Blank, thereafter branching out into
modern and ballroom training. Rex would eventually spin off from Pointe
Blank to form William & Mary's first dedicated hip-hop dance team, The
Syndicate, while continuing to dance and choreograph ensemble pieces for his
old company and cultural student groups including the Filipino American
Student Association, Korean American Student Association and Hispanic
Cultural Organization. For his efforts he was recognized by the university
Student Council as well as the secretive Order of the Crown and Dagger. Rex
began taking classes at PMT Dance Studio in 2009 and can now often be found
there, learning, practicing, and sleeping on the couch.
